History of Ergee

Ergee was established in 1901 by the concern Edwin E. Rössler OHG in Gelenau, Erz Mountains, Saxony, Germany. At that time they began to manufacture ladies' stockings, and sent them under the name brand Ergee into the whole world.

After the expropriation of the manufacturing plants in Gelenau and Falkenbach in 1948, a new factory was established 1950 in Sonthofen/Allgaeu. There, children socks and knee-highs were produced. Ergee attained the status of the largest children socks producer in the world.

At the beginning of the 60's in Austria the company "Ergee Textilwerke Schrems GmbH" was created. Besides socks and ladies' pantyhose the concern manufactured knitwear such as knitted caps, knitting tights and gloves.
